For this inaugural issue, the JIPF Executive Editors and their team have selected to feature two technical articles related to the science of perforating. The First relates to the impact sensitivity of HMX explosive powders, as affected by temperature and time exposure and the second presents an analytical model which has been developed to estimate swell and the likelihood of catastrophic splitting for hollow carrier gun bodies.
